Jennifer joined Chambers after completing her pupillage with Mr. Russell Coleman SC (now Hon Mr. Justice Coleman), Ms. Maggie Wong SC, Ms. Elizabeth Cheung, and Ms. Bonnie Cheng. She is developing a broad civil practice and accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers’ work.
Represented China Merchant Bank in a successful summary judgment application involving letters of credit against Coöperatieve Rabobank U.A. (led by Rimsky Yuen SC)
Acted (on my own, and being led) on various interlocutory applications, such as security for cost applications, discovery applications, anti-suit injunction, and interlocutory injunctions
Appeared on behalf of the Plaintiff in a 15-day trial in Chen Jinhui v Wong Kam San (by his guardian ad litem, Huang Yuexia) & Ors (HCA 1524/2012), concerning contractual, trust, and restitution claims over shares of a Hong Kong corporation holding interests in mining rights and an iron ore in Liaoning Province, PRC (led by Wong Yan Lung SC and with Andrea Yu)
Appeared on behalf of the husband in an 8-day trial in LCYP v JEK & CTC (HCMC 3/2018) (with Deepak Nagpal and Bonnie Cheng). Issues included a pre-nuptial agreement, avoidance of disposition under s.17 MPPO (Cap. 192), third party contribution, soft loans and discretionary trusts.
Appeared (on my own) on behalf of the husband in ancillary relief proceedings involving issues such as avoidance of disposition under s.17 MPPO (Cap. 192), third party contribution, mental health/ capacity issues, third-party ownership (TL v ML), and soft loans
