The event “Local and global developments in international arbitration, and the confluence between courts and tribunals”, affiliated with Hong Kong Arbitration Week and sponsored by Temple Chambers, was held on 20 October 2025.

The session, featuring speakers the Hon Mr Justice James Allsop NPJ, Ali Malek KC, Helen Tang and 

, and attracted over 120 attendees, including solicitors and legal practitioners from various jurisdictions.

Speakers discussed contemporary challenges in international arbitration, including the use of emergency arbitration and interim measures, as well as strategies for handling difficult respondents and the problem of attempted relitigation. The panel also explored key issues in third‑party funding and the impact of sanctions.
