“For many ‘the pre-eminent set in Hong Kong for commercial disputes’” (Legal 500, 2021)
We are delighted to welcome the return of The Hon Geoffrey Ma to Temple Chambers as an arbitrator/mediator member.
Mr Ma was a member of Temple Chambers when in private practice at the Hong Kong Bar. He was Head of Chambers prior to joining the Judiciary in 2001.
Following his retirement as Chief Justice of the Court of Final Appeal in January 2021, Mr Ma will continue the longstanding tradition of many former senior judges across the common law world (including a number of the overseas Non-Permanent Judges of the Court of Final Appeal) of contributing to the legal community by serving as an arbitrator and mediator. As with all retired judges in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, Mr Ma will not be practising as a barrister.
Mr Ma is a member of the International Advisory Board of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, and on their Panels of Arbitrators and Mediators.
Temple Chambers is pleased to welcome Astina Au (called in 2016) as a new tenant.
Law Man-Chung, who joined Chambers in 2011, will be appointed Senior Counsel on 29 May 2021.
